Services and activities

All of our programs are offered free of charge. Phelps Helps offers a range of programming for children, teens and adults in English and French. We serve the municipalities of Stanstead, Stanstead Est, Ogden and Canton de Stanstead, representing 5,146 people.

  • Our Academic Stream offers a diverse range of Academic and Career Support programming, offering services to participants ages 6 to 35.

  • Our Recreational stream offers programming that compliments our Academic programs while focusing on social skills, reducing isolation, and building trust in Phelps.

In 2023, Phelps Helps celebrated 10 years of working with Stanstead’s community through educational and career support.

This anniversary is a significant milestone and an opportunity to look back over a decade of helping children, youth, young adults and their families to realize their full potential and to celebrate the commitment, effort and memories that make Phelps Helps so special. Phelps Helps first opened its doors in September 2012 with its flagship high school tutoring program. Over the years, another five programs were developed to include elementary tutoring, Spark STEM learning, Compass, mentoring and summer camp. 

Mission

Phelps offers a unique range of assistance designed to increase community engagement and to establish the foundation for a life of autonomy. Rural community members are provided the support system needed to graduate from high school and to realize their future career and educational goals.
