Information
The CIARC is at the origin of various initiatives, including:
- the organic market gardening business incubator, which offers technical and financial support to entrepreneurs with training in horticultural production who are interested in organic market gardening,
- the Comité d’adaptation de la main-d’œuvre agricole (CAMO), which created the Centre régional d’initiatives et de formation en agriculture (CRIFA) in 1992,
- the Table de concertation agroalimentaire, which aims to develop and promote the region’s agri-food potential,
- the workforce stabilization project, which made it possible to develop a quality charter and produced various tools to supervise the management of human resources in agricultural businesses,
- the heritage barn restoration project, which restored its former splendor to the Plateau barn, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012,
- the dairy water treatment project by electroflotation and electrocoagulation.
Mission
Its mission is to revitalize the agricultural sector in a sustainable way through innovative projects that support regional development and training.
The C.I.A.R.C. est aussi la ferme-école du Centre régional d’initiatives et de formation en agriculture (CRIFA), as well as Gestion et technologies d’entreprise agricole of the Cégep de Sherbrooke.
